International conference YEAST 2001
Case study
Situation
The organizers of the YEAST2001 conference needed a system
for building and managing the database of participants.
Our solution
We recommended a solution consisting of two parts: The first part
served for on-line registration of participants,
the second one was a PC-based database application for
managing the participants records.
Results
- Our solution simplified the registration procedure and data management,
the final database had about 1.000 records.
- About 80% of participants used the on-line registration, about 50% of participants
payed with a credit card.
- Using mailing capabilities of the application, the participants could
be informed with a personalized last-minute e-mail.
- Merging the database with MS Office documents, the organizers could
easily print various lists of participants for the registration desk and for the
conference materials.
